Program Focus

Private Equity Groups are valuable partners in the marketing process involving the sale of middle market companies.  Understanding what information should be presented to an equity group investor and in what sequence are key factors for an intermediary to understand.  This program will explain The M&A Source Deal Expo and how advance preparation can make the time spent at the event more productive.  In addition to forming personal relationships with equity investors and investment funds, “telling the story” of an acquisition opportunity is vital to building realistic investor interest.  Knowing what information to strategically convey to a buyer prospect whose investment criteria has been carefully analyzed will increase the success rate for intermediaries.

Rob Firestone, CBI, M&AMI – Blue Stem Resources

Mr. Firestone is a partner with the Tulsa, Oklahoma based M&A firm, Bluestem Resources.  Bluestem is entering its third decade of providing both buy side and sell side representation for middle market companies across a variety of industries located primarily in the Southwestern United States.  Rob has built a reputation for providing high quality representation to his clients and is actively involved in the local business community.  Rob is a frequent instructor of courses for both The M&A Source and the IBBA.  Rob has served as Chair of The M&A Source in 2007 and is also a member of the Board of Directors of the IBBA where he is presently serving as Board Secretary. 


Bill Aurilio – Ocean Capital Ventures

Mr. Aurilio serves as managing director of Ocean Capital Ventures; LLC is a Florida-based investment firm.  It is the focus of Ocean Capital Ventures to acquire partial to full ownership in small companies that have consistently delivered profitable operating results. This Private Equity Fund was formed by entrepreneurs to meet the needs of other entrepreneurs. Bill has a long history of being involved with middle market companies from the operating side of the business investment equation.  Bill has been a participant in previous The M&A Source Deal Expos and has developed a working relationship with our association and its members.
